What exactly is it?
Exercise safely is a 12-week exercise programme designed around your personal needs. When we receive your referral one of our friendly advisors will call you to discuss our service, ask you a few quick questions, and book you a one to one appointment with a Health Improvement Lifestyle Officer. At your one to one, we will discuss any medical conditions you have and then create a personalised exercise plan for you to enjoy based on what you have told us.
You are then free to use any Brio Leisure centre including gym and pools. But don’t worry, if you’d like a bit of extra help, or fancy trying something new there are trained staff who can give you support and advice when you come in. We’ll also be in contact during your programme to find out how you are getting on and offer any further help and support you may need.
There are so many easy ways to exercise safely, even online, there are some great ways to get you started! Click here to get started.
Frequently Asked QuestionsOpen
Where will my referral take place?
We have venues across Cheshire West & Chester. We’ll find the most convenient one for you for your initial one to one, but after that you are free to use whichever Brio site you like.
Will the Health Improvement Lifestyle Officer be with me each time I come to the centre?
They won’t see you every time you come, but there are staff available specifically for Cheshire Change Hub users to speak to in the gym
What should I wear to my appointment?
During your first visit you will be using the equipment in the gym, so come in some loose clothing and a pair of trainers or comfortable shoes.
My health has prevented me doing some activities in the past, is that a problem?
No, our staff provide an individual exercise plan for everyone who comes to us and will work with you to create something suitable for your needs. Ask your GP to refer you and we can get started!
Is there a waiting list?
We will call you as soon as we receive your referral and find a convenient time for you to come in and see us, your one to one usually happens within 2 weeks of your initial call.
Can my carer come with me?
